I switched to Orkin from another National pest control company, and they were able to remedy a very mild roach issue left by the previous owner of my home. That is the only reason they got two stars. At the time of my second Orkin treatment I was advised by the tech that my service included a free attic inspection, and of course if it’s free- go ahead and do it. The tech that does the treatments did not perform the attic inspection, instead, they scheduled for a sales tech to come out the following day and complete the attic inspection, however, at the time I did not realize he was a sales tech. This representative got into my attic, and told me that I have a roof rat infestation, that I had multiple holes in the soffit in my roof, and that there were nests in my insulation, and droppings all over my attic floor. He told me it would cost $3000 to fully remediate my attic, and pushed me to apply for financing. When I told him that I did not feel comfortable with financing and likely would not qualify, he then mentioned “ luckily it’s tax season, so even if you don’t have the money now, you might have enough for a down payment and financing in a few weeks”. I have three young children, one of which has asthma, so after this sales rep explained to me that this infestation could be causing harm to my children I was very concerned and obviously upset. The issue though?… we’ve been living here for almost 2 years and have never seen a single rat. I called three other companies for a second opinion, and every single one of those companies confirmed to me that not only did I not have a rat problem, but I didn’t have holes in the soffit- only vents. I was urged by a smaller local company to discontinue service with Orkin, as they had also done the same thing to another customer of theirs; quoting a pregnant woman (with twins) $4000 to remediate her attic for a roof rat issue that she DIDNT HAVE. Orkins sales techs are PREDATORY, I genuinely believe that this sales tech tried to get me to sign a financing contract for $3000 service I DID NOT NEED based on the fact that I was a woman with young children, and he felt that I could be easily manipulated. When I called Orkin to report this predatory behavior and discontinue my service with them, the woman I spoke to didn’t seem surprised at all. She simply told me that she would pass along my feedback. The lesson here; choose a smaller and local company for all of your home contractor needs. A national company like Orkin uses TV/Radio/Online marketing to gain clients, and they have to recoup that money somewhere, therefore over selling you on services that you do not need. A smaller local company will rely on word of mouth from happy customers to gain more clients, which means they will put the high standard of service as a higher priority than Orkin ever could.

Jessie was very professional and thorough. He is 100 percent proud of being employed by Orkin. His very well kept beard made him look very mature and handsome. Orkin should change their policy to keep up with the times and let their employees wear beards as long as they are neat and groomed. Jessie represents the company very well and should at the very least be commended for the way he represents the company.

The gentleman that comes out is always super nice and thorough on the treatments and I couldn't be more grateful! I’m a new client of Orkin. They have been very thorough in inspecting my home searching for signs of pest or rodent intrusions and vet responsive to return visits ( mosquitoes) in between scheduled visits and these “in between” visits (inside or outdoors) are conducted at no addition charge! The office staff is very responsive and pleasant and have been very good at scheduling and fitting in extra visits. The various team members that have come out are professional, efficient and personable. All in all, Five Stars!
