Never again would I use this company. I called them to take care of mice. The first guy that came out told me I had to clean up the mouse poop and sanitize the area, handed me a bunch of sticky traps and left. When I called to find out exactly what I was paying them for, they sent out an “inspector”. He told me all of the insulation in the attic and basement needed to be removed and replaced, to the tune of $13,000. The guys that came out to do that job were initially very good. However, they pointed out other areas that the inspector had never even mentioned. The second day, they were two hours late because they had a flat tire. Ok, stuff happens right? The third day, I was told they had been sent to a different job. The fourth day, they were supposed to be there at 10. By 11 I had heard nothing and called the guy. He had “misplaced ” the keys to his truck and was waiting for someone to bring him another set. By 2, still hadn’t heard anything and reached out again, he was still waiting. He finally showed up after 4. Then I had to call the inspector to come make sure the job was done correctly, and he was supposed to give me snap traps. He never answers his phone! I call the office and they say a manager will have to call me back. I have yet to receive a call back (it’s been over a week), and I am tired of calling them. I told them I wanted to drop the contract, which I realized was easy because they had yet to send me one. This was a really expensive lesson, and I will definitely be looking elsewhere in the future. Maybe they were reputable at one time, but their customer service has gone to hell! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time or money on Orkin!

We have been using Orkin in Fairfax for several years. Our first service person was thorough and took their time to really treat and care for our property. They also would share what we needed to do to maintain our property and keep pests away. They moved out of the area and since then, the service has plummeted. Our new technician won’t return calls and has not shown up when we taken time off work to be at home when they share they will arrive. Most recently we have been contacting our technician and the office about finding hornets in our home. They came out once and only looked on the outside of the house and we called them back after 3 additional hornets were found inside. They did not show up when they said they would and the home office has ignored 4 calls for help. We are paying for a service that they are not delivering on and the scary part is that we have two toddlers at home. They’ve left us in a really unsafe situation. We could not recommend them at this time.

It may seem like I just went through and tapped all options to give the worst rating possible, and while that is true the only reason being is that it is accurate. Myself and my roommates have paid orkin to come out over the past 6 months to provide pest control services inside and out. Initially we had to call them back to even service the exterior, then we had to call them back for our secondary service inside. This past week we were supposed to have our 3rd treatment inside and out, with no noticeable changes to the exterior and no interior work done. It was noted by a roommate they (roommate) had requested a different date for the interior work, as no one was home on that time, but that exterior work should be completed. With a mass of spider webs all over the front and rear of the home still 5 days later, calling into Orkin and finding that they reported the exterior work as completed has seriously pissed me off to the point I will decide to tackle any future pest control myself rather than be scammed and have my money stolen without service by Orkin.

The Orkin representative, Frank, was very professional and thorough. He arrived on time as promised, and determined that it was a large and dangerous hornets nest in the tree by our drive-way. He outlined precisely how he would deal with it as well as safety precautions we needed to follow. His manner was professional and reassuring. Orkin service technicians have always shown up reliably at the appropriate inspection times. At my most recent inspection the technician (Mike) took the added time and effort to almost completely rebuild my antiquated system. He replaced all of the old and buried Centricon stations with the most recent versions. He apologized that it had not been maintained as it should have been since many of the old stations were so buried they couldn’t be read by the meter reader. It was a very hot sunny day and he could have easily let it slide but instead chose integrity and pride of workmanship. Much gratitude Mike for a job well done!

Both the inspector and exterminator were courteous, on time, knowledgeable, and professional. The service was extremely responsive, worked with my schedule, used my preferred method of contact, and offered multiple payment options. The service was expensive as compared to online estimations for price in my area, however I did not have to take off work saving me the cost of lost wages and were considerate as to when in the time block was better for me, the company has strong brand recognition, and they were able to address my needs immediately after a swarm was detected, saving me from damage occurring while I waited for service.
