Orkin’s Comprehensive Pest Control Solutions for Charleston, Illinois Residents

In Charleston, Illinois, homeowners are not strangers to the challenges posed by common pests such as ants, mice, and termites. Protecting your home from these unwanted invaders requires a proactive approach, and Orkin’s A.I.M.® solution offers a systematic, effective strategy for keeping your dwelling pest-free. Grounded in the principles of integrated pest management (IPM®), Orkin’s methods are both scientifically backed and environmentally conscious, providing Charleston residents with peace of mind and a shield against pests.

Expert Pest Assessment and Intervention

Orkin’s pest control strategy starts with a thorough assessment to pinpoint potential infestations in your home. The Orkin Pro, a skilled exterminator, will design a Pest Prevention Plan that targets the quirks of your particular situation. Gaps and cracks are sealed to prevent pests from gaining access, and a detailed report will outline the treatment steps and offer advice on maintaining a pest-free environment.

Orkin’s Pest Prevention Plan Coverage

The plan covers an extensive range of pests, from ants and mice to scorpions and spiders. Regular visits every 60 days aim to disrupt the lifecycle of pests, ensuring continuous protection. Moreover, with Orkin’s 100% money-back guarantee, you have the flexibility to cancel service at any time.

Pricing Insight

Prices fluctuate based on factors like home size and infestation level. A sample survey of various locations suggests monthly costs ranging from $40 to $100, plus an initial fee of $175 to $350 for comprehensive pest control, including rodent treatment. Promotions such as a $50 discount are occasionally available.

Service Agreements Demystified

Though the plan suggests an annual commitment, Orkin's 100% satisfaction guarantee means you can terminate the service at your discretion. A service agreement will be presented for your perusal and approval before any action is taken.

Specialized Add-Ons

Customers can enhance their Pest Prevention Plan with a complimentary termite inspection or opt for additional mosquito protection, the latter being a supplemental service.

Orkin’s Solid Guarantees

Orkin stands firmly behind their services, offering unscheduled return visits and a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're dissatisfied or encounter new pests within this timeframe, Orkin will address the issue at no extra charge.

Swift Same Day Service

For urgent pest situations, Orkin provides same-day service, bringing quick relief to your pest problems and restoring your home to a safe haven.

Thorough Termite Treatment

Free inspections form the basis of Orkin’s termite control, with customized treatment plans drawn up only after a detailed examination of your property. Costs vary, but homeowners can expect to invest between $250 to $1000 annually for prevention and extermination services.

Mosquito Mastery

Orkin’s approach to mosquito control involves combining source reduction with chemical treatments. Inspections guide the creation of a tailored plan which may include habitat modification and the strategic use of insecticides to address both adult and larval stages of mosquitoes. Prices for this seasonal service range from $25 to $80 monthly, with initial fees subject to discounts or a standard charge.

Orkin was contracted by my Home Owner’s Association for assistance with what I thought would be humane removal of wildlife from my roof. Today, Orkin came by and was up on my roof because they had caught one raccoon and one possum. Their entrance/exit ladder leans against my dining room window, so I can see them coming and going. I witnessed the Orkin employee tossing the caged animals off of my roof down to the ground, and I watched as the cages bounced as they hit the ground. Then the Orkin staff member picked up the cages and carried them to his van and drove away. I thought Orkin emphasized HUMANE treatment of animals but that does not appear to be the case. I do NOT recommend Orkin.

I was ao looking forward to continuing business with Orkin. They were so good in Missouri. If I could give the Champaign office zero stars, I would. I have had 3 appointments, and no one has ever showed up. You cannot call the local people, just the national call center. They don't want to schedule anyone to come look at your property and design a program to fit your needs and your property. They just want you to sign up for one size fits all. I told them I wanted a termite inspection, and set up a termite program. They've been supposed to come three times. Three times, I rushed hone to be there during their window. Three times, they have not come or called. I'm done. I don't do business when I'm consistently blown off. Look elsewhere. Not reliable. In addition to pest control, I paid several thousand dollars to have my crawlspace encapsulated. 3 years later, I discover it was never completed, and some of what was done, was done improperly. I'm looking at having to have it completely redone. None of the work from this company can be trusted. I'm nearing 70. They knew I could not go down there to check their work, and took advantage of me. I can get no response from Orkin, local or national, that is any help at all. My old Orkin guy from Missouri, who was a franchise holder, has looked at the pictures of my crawlspace and confirmed it was not completed properly. He's tried to get the home office to respond without luck. Pictures show mess they left. You can see daylight coming through the exit for the sump pump. Outside foundations walls exposed. Debris not cleaned up.

UPDATE (7/9/25): After writing the initial review, the branch manager (Cary) contacted me, came over to look at the concerns I share below, promised that "they would make it right," and then ghosted me. He came over a couple of times, had an idea to seal up the area where insulation is coming down into the downstairs storage closet (it's still coming through), and was going to contact someone about fixing the crack in the ceiling. After that second visit, and when I didn't hear back from him after a couple weeks, I called and left messages or was told that he was unavailable. I tried connecting with them for a month and a half, and never heard back from them. --------------------------------------------------- We contacted Orkin because we had a squirrel stuck in our chimney and as a lover of animals, I didn’t want it to die. While our Technician, Mike, was very nice, the good experience ended with him. He told us that the squirrel in the chimney was not stuck (it was and our dog alerted us to its corpse a few days later) and that we had a dead rodent in our attic and rodent droppings. He sold us on a special insulation with boric acid so rodents would struggle to breathe and would quickly vacate because of this. However, first we needed to set traps. We were told that trappings would happen the week of Thanksgiving, and when we realized they hadn’t been there, I called and the customer service representative (I think her name was Chris) cut me off as I tried explaining why I was calling, and told me they would probably be there next week but someone would call. We never got a call, but the traps just appeared. Then, they showed up to put a cap on our chimney. Both instances we did not need to be home, so I let it go. I thought they would at least call us to schedule a time for them to come and sanitize and insulate our attic. They did not. To my surprise, I got a call on a Monday morning that they were on their way. Thankfully I was working from home that day, but had plans in the afternoon that I had to change. When I called the office to share my frustrations, and asked to speak to the manager, the same lady answered and she proceeded to gaslight me and tell me that she spoke to my husband and scheduled it with him and that he probably just didn’t tell me. My husband never gives out his phone number, and he confirmed that after I talked to him. I called Mike and shared my frustrations with him. He said he would talk with the branch manager and have him call me. They never did. While the technicians were sanitizing the attic, I discovered some water had dropped from our bathroom fan and there was a puddle on the lid of the toilet and around the base of the toilet. When I shared the photos with the project manager, he explained it was probably just from the toilet. I explained that probably was not the case, since water was on the lid. Again, I let it go. After they had left, I saw fallen insulation in our under stair storage in the basement. I texted the photos to Mike and he said the project manager would call me. He never did. Now after a couple weeks, I’ve discovered a water stain and crack on the ceiling of our guest room. One thing after another has happened with zero communication from this company. They did however call me to get payment. I do not recommend this company. They do not communicate with you. They do not have good customer service at all, and did not do a quality job.

I can’t recommend Orkin enough! They were absolutely wonderful to me. Phil and Clint were great! They answered ALL my questions and concerns and went above and beyond to make sure my mind was at ease with my bat issue in my attic. They worked in my attic all day and made sure everything was clean, sanitized, entry points were sealed and added new insulation! I am very pleased with all the work they did! I know if I need something else down the road I will definitely call Orkin again! Thank YOU guys so much!

Clinton was very knowledgeable and gave me tips on how to keep the mice out. I am terrified of them and he made sure it has enough boxes. Very thorough and respectful. Would recommend him to anyone. Thanks for making a scary experience of mice more relaxed.

The Orkin inspector, Mike, was here yesterday. He was extremely knowledgeable about my issue and had solutions to the problem. On top of that, he was very personable and and friendly. Very good to work with. The office called me later that afternoon and scheduled treatment for this morning. My tech, Clinton was very prompt, courteous and also very knowledgeable about the situation. He got things set up quickly and is having another tech get in touch with me within the next 2 weeks to come and check on the issues. Very pleased so far with my experiences with Orkin!

Rodent Rectification

Mice and rat treatment is included in the primary pest prevention package, with no additional costs for homeowners already under Orkin’s care. Regular monitoring and treatment are part of the plan, ensuring these common pests are kept at bay.

Bed Bug Extermination Expertise

Inspections for bed bugs carry a fee, which is credited towards treatment costs if an infestation is found. Due to the complexity of bed bug elimination, quotes for treatment are provided only after a thorough inspection, which can be influenced by factors such as infestation severity and area size.

Managing Menacing Stingers

For stinging pests like bees and wasps, Orkin conducts inspections to determine the nest’s location and formulates a plan that includes prevention, extermination, and nest removal. A one-time treatment typically costs around $300, though this can vary.

Flea Fortifications

Professional assistance is crucial for overcoming flea infestations. Orkin’s flea management strategy involves identifying the species, treating pets, and employing growth regulators and insecticides. This comprehensive approach can cost between $250 to $300 for a single treatment.

Stink Bug Suppression

To deter stink bugs, Orkin focuses on prevention. Sealing entry points and applying chemical barriers are key components of an effective treatment plan, which typically runs around $250 to $300 for a one-off service.
