Orkin Pest Control: Comprehensive and Cost-Effective Solutions for Florida Homeowners
Homeowners in Florida's bustling capital, Tallahassee, can face a myriad of pest challenges due to the region's warm climate and lush environment. With pests like ants, cockroaches, and termites potentially threatening the comfort and structural integrity of homes, it's vital to have an effective pest prevention and treatment strategy. Orkin, a leader in pest control, offers a range of services designed to protect your home from unwanted visitors. This detailed guide provides an overview of Orkin’s pest prevention plans, termite treatments, and specialized services, complete with pricing to help you make an informed decision for safeguarding your home.
Integrated Pest Management with A.I.M.
Orkin’s A.I.M.® (Assess, Implement, Monitor) approach provides a dynamic solution to pest control. Initially, a thorough assessment is carried out to identify potential pest issues. Then, strategic measures are implemented using advanced technology and techniques. Regular monitoring follows to ensure pests stay away, giving homeowners ongoing defense against common invaders.
Comprehensive Pest Control
Orkin protects your home against an extensive list of pests, including ants, spiders, and rodents. Services are rendered every 60 days, or as needed, to interrupt the lifecycle of these pesky intruders. By sealing crevices and gaps, your home’s defense is further reinforced, minimizing future infestations.
Financial Considerations
Prices for services vary, with monthly costs ranging from $40 to $100, depending on home size and location. An initial fee applies to kickstart the pest prevention process, typically ranging from $175 to $350. Currently, a promotion offers $50 off this service, providing some financial relief to new customers.
Termite Vigilance
Termites pose a significant threat to the structural health of homes, with damage often excluded from insurance plans. Orkin offers free inspections to tailor a termite treatment plan to your home’s specific needs. While costs vary, they typically range between $250 to $1000 annually, ensuring your home remains secure from these wood-devouring pests.
Mosquito Mastery
Mosquito control is a seasonal challenge, with treatment costs between $25 to $80 per month. Orkin identifies breeding sites and employs both source reduction tactics and chemical treatments to manage these biting nuisances effectively.
Rodent Rectification
Included in the Pest Prevention plan, Orkin addresses mice and rat issues without additional charges. Their OrkinShield® Rodent Service is part of the standard package, ensuring your home remains rodent-free as part of the overall pest management strategy.
Bed Bug Battles
Bed bugs are elusive and notoriously hard to eliminate. Orkin charges between $95 to $116 for an inspection, with this fee contributing to the cost of treatment if bed bugs are found. Custom treatment plans are developed based on the severity of the infestation, ensuring thorough eradication.
Stinging Insect Solutions
Encountering bees, wasps, or hornets near your home can be alarming. Orkin’s expertise in identifying and removing nests can provide peace of mind. A one-time treatment generally costs about $300, an investment towards ensuring your property remains sting-free.
Flea Frustration Fix
Flea infestations require professional intervention, and Orkin’s approach addresses both the pests and their habitat. Treatment plans include thorough inspections, recommendations, and follow-ups to ensure fleas are effectively managed, with one-time treatments averaging between $250 and $300.
We’ve had a great experience with this company! The entire team is professional, knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and always willing to help. They take the time to answer any questions and provide excellent service.
We use them for our monthly mosquito spray service now and also going to have them repair our crawl space insulation. Both services have been outstanding, and the quality of their work has exceeded our expectations.
I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, honest, and professional service!

BEWARE !! & BE WARNED!!
I have been with Orkin since 2021. I knew I had not had a termite exterior bait monitoring service report since Sept. 2025, so in February I checked my account on the website and it stated I have a bait monitoring service coming up in March, and it said I will be given 3 days notice and a phone call will be made as a reminder the day before. I started yard work to make sure all traps were uncovered with leaves or any debris since it had been six months. Mid March came around and no calls to schedule appointment, so I checked the website that morning and an appointment was set for that day, March 18, which I never made and was not called the day before. I rescheduled it through the website for March 26, a day I would be home and got an email confirmation. March 26 comes and I wait around and no one shows or calls. I go back to the website and see it has been moved to the next day, March 27. Once again I did not set that appointment, no 3 days prior notice or a phone call. I start to feel like they try to schedule service when they think no one will be home.
I make sure I am home on March 27, cause I want to see them check the bait staions. Jason shows up at 2pm, I explain I would like to watch him check the bait stations. He tells me that is " not his job", he just shows up ahead to scan the stations to make sure all bait stations are accessable. He tells me someone else will come by "later" and he will tell them to call me when they are on the way. I say "ok" but that is never how it has worked in the past. There is only one person that comes, checks the bait stations, then I sign acknowledgement after the appointment is done and a service report is sent through email.
Jason leaves after about 30 mins. I am still expecting another person to come by since this is the day of the bait monitoring appointment. Then I get an email from Orkin saying my service is complete and attached to the email is a service report stating there was "no activity" found. Also, where the customer is suppose to sign as acknowIedgement he had typed "customer not available to sign" which is a complete lie, I spoke to him when he arrived and he blocked our cars in, so I never left.
I was very upset to say the least, I immediately called and spoke to David, the manager. David said that Jason should not have sent a report since he does not have a license and a licensed exterminator is the only one who does the service reports.
I feel like I caught Orkin trying to skip doing the job they were paid for. Orkin just sent somone on a day they thought no one would be home, so no signature. He just scanned the bait stations, which he has to open to do. He just forwarded the report without my signature, but problem is I WAS home. David set up another appointment for Monday, March 30.
Jamie shows up on March 30, I watch him check the stations. Some looked they had not been checked in years, the bait is old it was falling apart, one station was so old it broke when He tried to pull it out of the ground. He replaced over half of the baits and some old stations and added a couple more stations and YES activity was found in one station.
I don't know how much I trust anything Orkins says. I question all the times I assumed they were doing a proper job and did not watch them check termite bait stations. All I know is if you are using the termite bait monitoring service, do not let them set the appointment for when you are not home. You need to watch them check the bait stations and ask the technician what their license number is BEFORE you sign anything. Only a licensed exterminator should be checking the bait stations or handling the baits that need to be replaced.
I will not be renewing my contract with Orkin.

Technician was prompt in service delivery, had consultation prior to performing services, checked for wasps nests, some had been sighted prior to visit. He checked with me in informing he was enroute. Brushed away spider webs. Overall, he did a great service at my residence, always courteous and professional in duties performed👍

Jason from orkin was my tech in my home that I rented for five years from 2020 to 2025. Jason was in my home in November 2025 right before I purchased it for my landlord to check my baits and replace my baits. He told me everything was good and I let him know that I would be Purchasing the home and
renewing the contract. I had an invoice from The landlord from which I bought the home.
On February 26, I called to make a payment. For about a month prior I played phone tag with Kayla.. I found out that the contract expired on February 28. On March 2, jason came out of my home and told me that because the contract canceled on February 28 I would have to pay $1400 plus $299 for the year. I reminded jason he was here in my home in November and told me that everything was good. I told him I would not pay him $1400 when there was nothing wrong with the Baits that he just placed three months ago. He proceeded to threaten me and tell me that if I didn’t renew the contract for $1400 orkin would come out and take the baits that they had just placed. I would like to see them try it. Do not use orkin. They’re just a bunch of crooks and they should be ashamed of themselves. .

He didn't do what I paid him to do so I called the Orkin office in Tallahassee and the reception Kayla was rude and kelp saying I make up the contracts I'm in charge and what she says goes she was letting her job go to her head saying " I'm in charge " it sounds so immature and unprofessional then they sent another tech out named Adam he was over weight and couldn't do his job all he done was grunt and moan .We told him we smelled a dead rat under our mobile home and it was his job to find it and depose it but guess what he said ???? He told my boyfriend that you smell your upper lip 💋 and he got in his truck and spun off he didn't say anything just left then a third tech comes and I told the lady receptionist Kayla I needed to reschedule because I wasn't going to be home had a doctors appointment but guess what? The tech was sent anyway it pissed me off all this tech did was spray alittle around my house and spun off too not saying anything to me so me and my boyfriend decided to fire them but before we fired them some rude man from Orkin calls me up talking rude to me my boyfriend took the phone and said please come get your stuff I'm firing u guys but they haven't came to get their stuff and I had to call them several times asking for a refund and I finally succeeded then the area supervisor calls me but I really don't think she cared it's really hard to find good people who don't mind working and trying to kill rats isn't that hard .I use to own a cleaning company now that's hard work ! Please take what I said and don't hire the Orkin service in Tallahassee Florida they are unprofessional and disrespectful. I'll shout it out loud PLEASE DON'T USE THESE COMPANY!!!!! Ty
