I called Orkin in Grand Rapids, Michigan, managed by Mitch Rasmussen, for a pest control issue I was having. They sent an employee to diagnose my home for the pest problem. That employee diagnosed my home incorrectly. They then treated my home incorrectly for the actual problem AND incorrectly for the pests they had diagnosed. Neither the diagnosis nor the treatment were correct, in any respect. They say they have the money back satisfaction guarantee. It’s right on my contract, but when I called, spoke to Mitch Rasmussen, the manager, and asked for my money back, he said he would “dig Into it.” That was one to two months ago. He has since avoided all of my phone calls and ignored all of my voice messages over these past weeks, and I call multiple times a week. I am a disabled woman without income and they owe me $833. However, even though Mitch‘s voicemail answering message states that he will return calls upon reaching his destination, no one has called me back, much less given me my money back. Mitch Rasmussen does not honor Orkin’s contracts, and his branch has proved to be untrustworthy on any and all levels.

Service has been declining. We've been Orkin customers for years, but lately they have stopped informing us when they were coming for our monthly service and they have long since stopped ringing the doorbell (or even coming to the door) to ask us if we have any specific needs. Because of this change, they haven't been servicing the inside of the house during monthly visits at all. When I call and ask about this, I'm redirected to the portal to schedule another visit instead of being assisted on the call.

Orkin responded quickly to our request for service when we found signs of bugs on our very large wooden fence. They came out, analyzed, and gave us an update on the spot. Within a short time they sent someone out to treat the area. Timothy was professional, smart, friendly, and efficient. We will definitely use them again. Highly recommended.

Orkin did pest extermination in our house and we were really happy with the service. I HATE any bug so when I realized we had a problem I freaked. We scheduled inspections with 3 companies. Orkin arrived first thing in the morning (I called the night before). There was some miscommunication on service initially but the manager took care of it promptly and fairly. Sabastian did our treatment. He was on time, patient with all my worries and questions, knowledgeable and thorough. His communication was great. The next morning, Jennifer from the office called to see if we had questions and were happy with the service. She was professional and sweet. Overall, we are very happy with our service!

I used them years ago and super great, this time not so much. They told me spiders, stink bugs and other insects would be included with the flea treatment...but they just sprayed today, (second treatment)and I found a live stink bug and there was a live spider as well! This was right after they sprayed!? Also, there wasn't much information about how to prepare for the service or after care. The technician the first time left my front door open afterwards, and overall just seemed not super thrilled about his job.

Inspectors came to our house within hours of us calling. The inspectors were very helpful explaining everything that was going on. The service technician came the following day on time, he inspected as he walked me through explaining what he was going to do. The technician was very polite, worked very clean, and was knowledgeable explaining to me what and why he was doing what he did!

Within days of my husband and I leaving on an anniversary trip out of the country we discovered a pest had entered our house. We contacted another company who described an extermination process that was utterly overwhelming. I was in a panic. We had to leave in two days. So I called Orkin. They arrived in less than 2 hours. “Tim” could not have been more kind, understanding, compassionate and helpful. He explained his very simple but thorough procedure clearly and assured me repeatedly that we would be okay. I cannot say enough about how wonderful he was. He expressed how this was his goal to help and give people peace of mind. We are now able to go on our trip with exactly that. Thank you Orkin and thank you Tim. You’re the best. Ethan came to the house and provided amazing service!! Kept a good conversation and explained what he was doing and how things would work. Included that the product he was using was animal friendly (we have a dog). He is an extremely nice man!!

I’m sure they did a fine job insulating the attic, but they should’ve told us to cover EVERYTHING because there is a thick layer of dust EVERYWHERE and there’s a dust trail all through the house. It is beyond frustrating. Upon further inspection, I’ve found that EVERY SQUARE INCH of this house is COVERED insulation dust. The insulator admitted to not checking if the trash bag meant to hold in the insulation was intact, and offered to have someone come out with a shop vacuum…. That’s not going to do the job. We need about 20 people with the best dusters, and swiffer wet jets money can buy over here. And a dry cleaner to get all my clothes treated. Pulling my hair out.
