“After doing a CL100 (and being the company who held the bond for the previous 20 yrs) the Clark's technician made mention in the report of something that was extremely insignificant and totally unnecessary to note. I confirmed this with a licensed contractor that something that small had no need to be put in the report. Not surprisingly at the end of the report is an "estimate for repair/replacement" that was $975 for something that was so small and pointless it shouldn't have even been mentioned and, was a $50 fix. So I quickly figured out what they were "up to" . After further investigation and a personal conversation with Matt, (the inspector who did the CL100), he offered could do a re-inspection for a fee of $35 to come back out to a property they have seen where they have noted items of concern. One can come to the conclusion that if you use Clark's for a CL100 that you can expect they will mention there is something that needs to be fixed on EVERY report, because a report with nothing mentioned means they can't make money trying to screw people either with a minimum $35 re-inspection fee, or their astronomical repairs. I called around after this experience only to find out that many many other people have had similar experiences with their unscrupulous dealings. 2nd reason I wouldn't ever suggest them, is their staff being totally inept at details, and communication. I gave them a simple instruction to contact me (because I was the care taker of the property) and my 85 yr old mother was not, also the home was vacant. Over the course of a year, they continued to call my mother for entry into the home (and didn't call me until after I had to get unsavory with the owner). At least or 4 - 6 times this happened. It was as if they didn't listen, take notes, or no one was intelligent enough to know what was going on.”
