Scam Scam Scam – Terminix Lies & Theft In February 2025, I was sold a so-called “complete rodent removal and cleanup package” by salesman Steve McClure. He promised full removal, sealing, and cleanup. What I actually got was nothing but 15 traps scattered around my house, with no real work done. For this, Terminix locked me into paying $120/month. Over nine months, I’ve spent almost $1,000 and the problem was never solved. After eight visits, they simply stopped coming while continuing to charge me. Now I’ve discovered I’m locked into over $2,000 more in charges through shady third-party billing. When I tried to cancel, they told me it was “out of their hands.” This isn’t pest control — it’s a scam. And what was Terminix’s public response to my review? A copy-and-paste corporate script asking me to email them — the same line they send everyone. Total BS. I’ve already called corporate three times, filed with the PA State Department and the BBB, and nothing has been done. Each time they claim a “case is open” but can’t provide me with a single detail. This is fraud. Terminix is stealing money, hiding behind outsourced billing, and knowingly selling services they never intend to deliver. Their salesmen like Steve McClure push lies to get you signed up, then you’re stuck while Terminix bleeds your bank account dry. Avoid Terminix at all costs. They are not here to solve your problem — they are here to scam you.

Scam Scam Scam – My Nightmare With Terminix In February 2025, I made the mistake of trusting Terminix to handle a rodent problem in my home. What I thought would be a straightforward pest control service turned into one of the most frustrating, expensive, and unprofessional experiences of my life. I feel scammed, and I want others to be aware before they go through the same headache. When the sales representative first came to my home, he sold me on what he called a complete removal and clean-up package. He made it sound like everything would be handled thoroughly and efficiently. What I would later discover is that not only was I charged more than double what I was originally told, but they piled on hidden fees and add-ons that were never explained to me upfront. The first technician arrived and simply placed 15 small traps around the house. That was it. No real inspection, no sealing of entry points, no cleanup, no comprehensive plan—just traps. For this, I was locked into paying $120 every month, and over the course of nine months, I’ve spent nearly $1,000 for essentially nothing. The infestation, of course, continued. I kept calling Terminix, hoping they would stand behind their so-called service. Each time I called, I was met with rude responses, dismissive tones, and employees who acted like I was inconveniencing them by pointing out that their service wasn’t working. After I pushed and pushed, they finally sent out a “special technician” with larger traps. Yet even after that, the problem never got solved. By September 2025, after eight trips to my house, Terminix simply stopped showing up. No calls, no follow-ups, no solutions. Meanwhile, the automatic monthly charges kept hitting my bank account. When I tried to cancel, they told me there was nothing they could do because payments had been outsourced to a third-party company called SMAC. SMAC, of course, doesn’t care about the scam or the ongoing charges. Terminix just shrugs their shoulders, as if they bear no responsibility. I’ve called Terminix corporate three separate times. Each time, I was told that a “case had been started” but when I asked for updates or documentation, they couldn’t provide me with a single detail. It was like shouting into the void—no accountability, no transparency, no help. This isn’t just bad customer service—it’s a scam. Terminix has been happily pulling money out of my bank account while delivering no results. Their sales rep lied about what I’d get, their technicians did the bare minimum, and their corporate office hides behind scripted excuses. I’ve already reported this to the Pennsylvania State Department and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I urge anyone reading this to think twice before signing anything with Terminix. Don’t fall for the sales pitch, don’t trust their “contracts,” and don’t give them access to your bank account. For me, it’s been nine months of stress, wasted money, and zero results. Terminix and their third-party partners are profiting while homeowners like me are left with the same problem we started with—plus an empty wallet. Beware: Terminix is not here to solve your pest problem. They’re here to scam you. And to make matters worse, I’m still being charged going forward — over $2,000 more in the next year. Terminix set this up through the bank so they can keep stealing money. At this point, I can’t help but wonder if Terminix is even getting a kickback from this setup.

If I could give them ZERO STARS, I would. I had a pest problem and did what anyone would do and called the most well known company in the game of pest control. BAD DECISION. They roped my into a 1 year contract that cost me over $2,000, full of missed appointments, rescheduling, or flat out not showing up at all. Then I'd get a report from one of their techs about my property as if they actually came out. I saw one guy on my doorbell cam literally spray a squirt by my front door then left. My pest problem did not go away. They did not solve it. In fact it's WORSE NOW. Their money back guarantee is b.s. They're a b.s. company that overcharges for things you can do with $50 worth of supplies from Home Depot. Do not make my mistake. Do not use Terminix. They're absolutely 100% useless.

Unfortunately we were not made aware that service was taking place. Therefore, the tech was not able to fully service the entire premise as we would want. No notification was given as has been repeatedly requested so that someone would be available to open the complex in order for the needed services to be done. We did contact Terminix, and were given another date for the service to be done and told there would not be an extra cost. Representative on phone most helpful and professional.
