Orkin provides services beyond just residential pest control and we signed a contract for them to do several thousands of dollars of work. They were to remove and replace our insulation. They only did part of the job which is a breach of contract. They have ignored our requests to complete the work they were paid to do. I would recommend never having this company do any work. Be careful who you deal with, they do not value their customers or take pride in their work.

My experience with Orkin has been a complete disaster from the beginning. I returned home from a long weekend in July to find significant evidence of mice in my kitchen. After attempting to deal with the rodent problem myself, with some success, I was overwhelmed and hired Orkin because they had the soonest availability to help. This was a mistake. The first serviceman was unable to determine where mice were entering the home. He placed two glue traps and two snap traps throughout my kitchen, pantry, and garage. I was clear I had dogs in the home, and he saw the dogs when he visited my attic. Despite knowing this he still left snap traps and my dog was caught in a snap trap. The serviceman also refused to check for potential points of entry in my drop ceiling, he did not check the patio where the AC is located, and he did not check under the kitchen sink for potential spots of entry. When the time came for my follow up appointment no one showed up. A different service man finally showed up for the follow up upon reschedule. He caught one mouse in a glue trap. By this time I had caught six mice myself. He 'sprayed' out front, still not on the patio. At this time I canceled the service and hired a different exterminator. My service agreement with Orkin declares a 49.99 recurring charge monthly, despite canceling the service I was charged for the next month. When I called the company she said I was part of some budget billing plan I had never heard of before. When I asked to speak to a supervisor none were available. The customer service representative was rude and had an attitude. I will be disputing the most recent charge with my credit card company.

We had Orkin out for an inspection today. We cannot say enough good things about them. From the first call yesterday, to the inspector today they have been very prompt and excellent customer service. We really appreciate our concerns being addressed so promptly! The inspector explained everything so thoroughly and was extremely responsive and respectful of our home. Thank you Orkin, and if you need an inspector call Tanner he was awesome

Unfortunately a negative experience, primarily due to lack of clear communication. I was first told they could treat only outside and it would be just as effective, I was later told that is not true, and the technician would have to spray inside. Was told initially they would come back to treat free of charge if there were issues, was told later it had to be during the same month of service, but also 10 days after the last service (understandably because of safety concern). The scheduling times changed the day of and/or didn’t show up at all for one month. Just a generally frustrating experience. Oh and see no difference with bugs.

I have never worked with a company with this terrible of customer service and employees. They are so unhelpful that I might as well. Just put up a craigslist ad to get what I want done. I was told that the customer service is so bad because they “are a large company and have a lot of customers.” DUH! I’m one of them! They give me appointment slots where I have to wait around all day and take off work and then just don’t show. I’m going to be switching to a local company because this is ridiculous.

TLDR: DO NOT USE ORKIN. EVER. I found some mouse droppings in the lower living room of my house. I called a local pest control company that day, and they weren't able to come by for a few days. I figured I would try Orkin as it's a very well known name for pest control. The lady was extremely friendly when and said they could get someone out same day to take care of my problem. I simply had to sign up for a monthly service and then pay around $370 for the visit and they could "guarantee they would get the mouse problem solved." So, a gentleman showed up later that day and proceeded to walk around my house with a flashlight and place sticky traps in 5-6 place, without even telling me where they were... I had to have him show me after the fact (some where in garage)... *Side note* -- those sticky traps are quite inhumane and I did not enjoy having to then kill the mice that were stuck on them (Orkin don't come by and dispose of them). He then told me they were going to have another guy come by and do a deeper dive so they could get the problem solved... He proceeded to knock a solitary cobweb down from the front porch and he left... Quite a useless fella if we are being honest. The next guy came by the following day, and he spent a solid 1-1.5 hours in the attic and crawlspace, and walking around the house poking about. Eventually he asked me to sit down and go over the quote... At this point I was somewhat confused having already spent $375 bucks, but I followed his lead. The quote: $28,500 I laughed, he laughed, we laughed together for a few minutes. Eventually he proposed that they could remove multiple services/items and do it for a measily 18k... We both shared another laugh and he went on his way. I obviously chose not to use their service, although I was over $370 out of pocket. I also forgot to cancel the monthly service and another gentleman came by a few weeks later and spent maybe 10 minutes or so at my house walking around outside. I have no idea what he actually did but he didn't go in the back yard or anything and I didn't see any broom to cobweb action. I canceled the monthly contract and asked if they would waive the $55 given, I already paid over $370 for essentially nothing but a quote, and they would not waive a dollar. I was not planning on reviewing them, but this kind of business practice is shady, and I want to warn anyone against using them, especially for rodent/pest control, as you will likely need to take out a second mortgage to afford it. Moral of the story... Get some clear caulk sealant and fill any cracks (even tiny ones) you may have around your house inside and out. Get some traps and put some peanut butter on them (preferably kill traps as they are more humane and easier to dispose the mice). Do not leave crumbs ANYWHERE. Or, give Orkin $375 bucks and sign up for a monthly plan so they can tell you it's going to cost you nearly $30k to fix the problem, and then share a laugh with them and send them on their way.
