EDIT TO MY REVIEW (on the bottom) - I don't want to be this dude, really. However, I feel like the Crystal Lake branch has been given too many chances to get things correct and they keep missing the mark, badly. Two appointments, they didn't show. After the first no show, I contacted the company and I was told I was not on the schedule. I specifically set the inspection/appointment up with Jacob while he was at my residence for a spray. When I spoke to the manager, I asked him if he wanted to contact Jacob, to determine where the fault was, and what we could do to ensure it wont happen again, as I had to take time out of my schedule to be home. He was quick to dismiss this and reschedule explaining they take credit for the mistake. The rescheduled appointment occured the following Monday without issue. I just want to point out that taking credit for a mistake is not the same as owning up to the mistake and having a solution to do better in the future. Regardless, the spray seems to work GREAT! Reduced issues in the house. Fast forward to a quarter later, I am getting notifications my next service would occur on a Friday, and I would have somebody contact me the night before. I would be provided with a time window where someone would show up to spray..... no contact. Friday morning I call and am told they should be there between a certain time, which already passed. This is an inconvenience because I'm missing the opportunity to make money by accomplishing my work while sitting around for them to show. I again speak to the manager and he offers compensation for not showing up and reschedules me for the next week. I explained to them I did not need compensation and I appreciated it. The next week comes around, they show up spray, and there's no problem. While all this is occurring, my homeowners association approved in their budget and worked with Orkin to get some stuff sealed on the outside of my townhome. All scheduling and billing was set up between orkin and my homeowner's association for this work. Orkin came out, took care of everything and left. On Monday I woke up to a drained bank account because Orkin charged me instead of the HOA. Again, when people actually show up the service is great.They're friendly and the spray works. The issue is somewhere in the organizational structure, and how things are being managed. I canceled my service, which sucks because it did work. During this whole time, I did my best to be respectful but firm. I hope this office is able to implement changes which can make them more productive and run like a well oiled machine, in the future. UPDATE: Orkin responded to this review, concerned and said to call them. That is all fine and well, but why is it they didn't return my call when I called the first time? In fact, after calling to find out where my $2000.00 was, I had to call back to the corporate and was advised that I would be refunded. If they truly cared about actually solving the problem (instead of damage control), the local branch would have returned my call or contacted me back, as I was told would happen (by the main Orkin number). It's not difficult and is a poor reflection of the operations.

The technician was very nice, professional and thorough, unlike my last bug service that I had. Then Nick came for the inspection and he was amazing! I had no idea that Orkin offers so many services!
