Our Anderson Review

Even with a limited reach to only three U.S. states, Anderson offers incomparable treatment options using some of the best rated strategies in the industry. With a mission to “use technical expertise to protect people and enhance lives,” this company is a safe bet if you live in Illinois, Indiana, or Missouri.

Our Rating:

Anderson is a small, yet mighty, industry player with certifications from QualityPro, GreenPro and the EPA. A member of the Rentokil Steritech family of pest control companies, it currently has 10 different locations in three states for customers to obtain service. Its pestfree365 annual plan assigns one technician per home and incorporates Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to ensure that solutions are both as safe as possible and analyzed regularly to ensure quality of pest control.

The company has received certifications of excellence for the strategies and technologies they use as part of their treatment methods.

Anderson is only available in three states and 10 total locations, limiting its reach of service.

Features & Services Provided

Our Rating:

Anderson offers treatments for a comprehensive pest library, which includes:

  • Ants
  • Bed Bugs
  • Bees and Hornets
  • Beetles
  • Cockroaches
  • Rodents
  • Mosquitoes
  • Flies
  • Ticks
  • Fleas
  • Spiders
  • Termites

Anderson primarily uses Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for customers who use their annual pestfree365 plan. Through IPM, technicians perform a continuous cycle of inspection, identification, monitoring, action and evaluation to ensure that pests are exterminated and less likely to return.

Anderson’s satisfaction guarantee states they will return to solve an unsuccessful treatment within one business day and refund the customer’s last payment if they continue to be unsuccessful. As part of the pestfree365 annual plan, customers are also treated to unlimited service calls in between treatments if they experience new pest problems.

Technician Training

While Anderson does not disclose specific requirements of their training courses, their technicians are required to undergo background checks, drug screening and certifications after initial training. While they’re working for Anderson, these technicians must also complete annual and monthly continued education benchmarks and have their certifications renewed before they can continue to work or advance through the company.

Eco-Friendly Pest Control

Anderson is certified by both the EPA and GreenPro program. They assert that they have been practicing environmentally responsible pest control methods since 1913, and they do so by incorporating Integrated Pest Management into their annual contracts. This means that technicians are trained to first use natural methods like habitat modification, exclusion and sanitation before reaching for pesticides. Not only is this method safer for the environment, but it decreases the likelihood of re-infestation once any pesticides have worn off.

Anderson uses IPM strategies to help eradicate pests and keep them away long after treatments are complete.

Anderson’s satisfaction guarantee only offers a partial refund for customers.

A Word About Reviews

It can be difficult to judge pest control companies using online reviews: negative reviews tend to outnumber positive reviews for all companies. But looking at negative and positive reviews can give consumers some idea of the trends in a company’s performance.

Punctuality & Professionalism

Many of Anderson’s online reviews are positive notes from customers who state that their technicians were polite and informative and showed up promptly for service calls. However, the company’s negative reviews also show a disparity in the way some technicians perform, with some even neglecting to show up or inform their customers why.

Depending on the technician, the experience of working with this company during a visit can be either excruciating or pretty pleasant.

Diana B., Glencoe, IL

Anderson’s customer reviews reflect the success of their Integrated Pest Management strategies. Many customers state that they were pleased with their technician’s ability to find the source of various pests and use a close attention to detail in order to stop an infestation in its tracks.

Our tech Darryl came within a day, never made me feel like a “worry wart”, and checked everything which gave me great peace.  I really appreciate that Anderson will come back to check so quickly, politely and most professionally—even if it was a false alarm.

Julie L., Libertyville, IL

Many customers remark on the fast-working effectiveness of Anderson’s treatments, while others are unhappy with the number of pests they still have after several treatments. One positive note which customers highlighted was the comprehensive service report they receive after each treatment so they can stay in the loop of what is happening around their home and understand which treatments are effective or ineffective.

We had a serious ant problem in our yard. Anderson came out and sprayed for an hour. Almost immediately, I was amazed to see a decrease in ants.

Amanda M., Libertyville, IL

Customers appreciate Anderson’s technicians who are trained to target pest problems at their source and keep customers informed along the way.

Despite Anderson’s technician training, some employees deliver lower-quality treatments and services.

Our Rating:

Costs within the pest control industry are difficult to evaluate since it can vary drastically depending on your location, the type of pest problem you have, and the damage that has already incurred. Instead of breaking companies down by cost, we’ve evaluated several factors that may either lower or raise overall costs for customers.

Free Quotes

Customers can receive a free quote regardless of which pest or pests they are dealing with. However, Anderson does not state that the quote comes with a free initial inspection, which means the quote may not be completely accurate to specific needs and levels of severity.

Anderson’s satisfaction guarantee ensures prompt service once a treatment has failed and a partial refund if treatments continue to be unsuccessful, although it is not spelled out how long the company will wait until they approve of a customer refund.

Annual Contract

Anderson’s pestfree365 contract covers preventative treatments for a variety of pests as well as annual termite inspections. This annual contract includes regularly scheduled treatments three times a year as well as unlimited service calls for problems that occur in between treatments. Anderson doesn’t state that customers are able to request services outside of an annual contract, or if there is a cancellation fee for unhappy customers.

Anderson’s new customers can enjoy $25 off their initial service from an online coupon. However, this discount is only available for customers who are purchasing recurring services.

Anderson’s satisfaction guarantee includes a partial refund, which many companies do not include as part of their offerings.

Anderson Pest Solutions does not offer free inspections, which can ultimately raise overall costs for customers because of inaccurate quotes.

As part of the Rentokil family, Anderson Pest Solutions has access to some of the most successful treatment methods on the market. Despite their small service area, they’ve developed a great reputation among customers who are satisfied with both the effectiveness and methods for treatment.
