“SHOULD REALLY MEANS WISH My mom has been a client for years, but yesterday when she called to inform Robbins Pest Management, Inc. that rodents had chewed through some wiring within the walls, the business owner repeatedly stated that it was odd to have rodents during these months, and we SHOULD not have rodents. Unless he was responsible, why would he argue? Regardless of the owner’s wistful daydreams about odd or should, the fact is, something small enough to be inside the walls is chewing through the wiring in the walls*. Finally, the owner told my mother that he would have someone at her house the next day (today) by 2pm. To help my mom out, I changed my plans (I SHOULD have been able to go to work, keep an appointment to babysit my nephew, work in the backyard, plan my day, etc...) yet despite waiting all day, the technician hasn’t yet shown. After 2pm, I called the owner to inquire regarding the appointment, and the owner said, "He SHOULD be there any minute. Tell ya what, I'll have him call you right back." That was an hour and forty-five minutes ago. Perhaps the owner SHOULD have taken my phone number, or at least used the house number on file. The technician SHOULD have called me to inform me he would be late, or not here at all. I suppose that to the owner, the word SHOULD is really the word WISH in disguise. When I called back to follow up, he no longer answers the phone. And this is how he treats someone who was polite to him. The owner SHOULD hire someone who cares about their job and hire them to answer calls to make it seem as though the owner cares about his company. Until Robbins Pest Management, Inc., I've never known of a company to be so comfortable as to turn away money and the opportunity to get more money through repeat business. *It is obvious by the separation of the wiring that these are not cuts, rips, or tears – i.e. not the work of something with opposable thumbs, or the dog (and this list exhausts the logical possibilities) – aside from rodents. Quite clearly, also, the tiny droppings in the garage did not magically appear as if carefully placed mid-eve by the Turd Fairy!”
