“STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! I don't often write negative reviews, but in this case I must. I paid $86.00 (43 for each unit) to receive inspection reports for 2 properties I was selling. I paid over the phone and scheduled the inspection. They had no problem taking my money. They did not ask whether I had a policy with another company (I did, but my termite company was asking too much for an inspection). So I went with River City since their fees were similar to what others would typically charge. They came out, as scheduled, but called shortly after arriving. They said they would not provide a report because they saw evidence of termites. I asked if they were referring to some mud in the outdoor storage room of one unit. They said yes. I informed them that this was existing mud from many years ago. I have a report from when I purchased the property over 10 years ago. I asked if there was evidence of any active termites. They said no. I asked them to submit the report stating exactly what they found...evidence of termites but no active termites found. They refused...stating that this would "look bad" when trying to close. I told them I don’t care what it looks like...it's the truth...so provide it in the report. They refused again. I did not receive a report for my 86 dollars. I contacted the front office and explained. I was given the same answer. I told them I either want my money back or a report. She refused. She said “we’re not trying to screw you over" (very unprofessional). She said I was better off getting my termite company to come out. Shocked, I asked why she didn’t tell me this when I was scheduling the appointment. She said she didn’t think to ask that. Are you kidding me? I ended up going with my termite company (Massey Services)…just had to pay a higher fee. But they came out and provided the report. And you know what? The report says that they saw evidence of termites (mud) but no active termites!! How about that! And you know what else? I was able to close with no problem. Don’t waste your time or money with this company. I’m sorry I did. Tell you friends and family so they don’t end up in this situation. Another funny thing…there was only that one issue in one of my properties…but they wouldn’t even give me a report for the property with no issues!! Again…they weren’t interested in providing a complete service…just taking my money. And another funny thing...their website says "The Best Service Guaranteed"...really?!?!”
