Extreme disappointment with Orkin. Called them around 11 am for service THAT DAY- clearly stated that early in the conversation and the scheduled me, that day, for a technician from 2-4pm. Gave them my card, info and anything else they needed. At 1:58pm, I get a call stating that they have to cancel any appointment with me for that day and can reschedule. NO!!! I needed your services and was very clear on my needs and they falsely scheduled me and basically gave me NO TIME to call another company for the same day. Completely unprofessional and ridiculous and never will I rely on Orkin for anything I need.

I tried 3 different (and well known) pest removal companies with mixed results before I tried Orkin to tackle an ongoing cockroach problem with one of my rental properties in West Valley. Within the first few months, the difference was drastic and I've only needed them to do irregular maintenance since. Technicians always call ahead, work with me on my schedule and on time. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs pest removal services as their methods really do work.

To our surprise we had tiny sugar-like ants find their way into our house. We attempted our own fixes but they kept moving to other places. We called Orkin and they responded quick and got the job done and we never saw ants or other pests again. The service provided was great but the technician himself was not so much. I have a profession that gives me the opportunity to meet the motoring public, helping them become safer drivers. This is how I met my technician. Then realized my wife had scheduled a service after our interaction. During my encounter he lied to me several times. I felt uneasy once I discovered he was also coming to my house later that day. He was several hours late to our first appointment but eventually informed us he was not going to make it on time.(With the track record he created himself, I am sure he did not tell us the truth about being late) As written above, the pests were stopped but the lying did not. Through the next few months we were contacted by text after 10pm a couple of different times to line up another service(who does that). We did not reply at that late hour. The same technician showed up to our house unannounced and startled my kids as he was in the back yard without telling us. We were finally able to get more than a 12 hour notice of service that fit our schedule but he never showed up. After waiting over two hours we called in and again, the lies as to why he would not be able to make the appointment as scheduled began to flow. He lied several times to my wife, me and his supervisor. I was able to get the service completed but no longer felt comfortable with him in my home. I asked for a new technician from Orkin and the reply I received was they had no other technician in my area. I live 20 minutes from the capital city(and largest) of the state, I found it odd they would not keep my service with another technician. He said the service would be canceled if I no longer wanted this technician in or around my home, so the service was ultimately canceled. If I lied like my technician, I would lose absolutely everything I had. My years of education and training would be all for not, I would lose my job, my retirement and a lot more! I did not want the technician to lose his job but I did not want him in my home any more. I am disappointed that Orkin was not able to assign a different technician to complete the services.

ntment today, October 28, 2019 for the 4–6 pm timeframe and not only did no one show up but they didn’t even have the courtesy to call. Then when you call them, you don’t get someone from their office, you’re routed to a service center in Washington, who also can’t get ahold of the SLC office. If you’re looking for pest control in the Salt Lake area, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Orkin offers follow up services, if needed, at no extra cost and then they don’t show up, which doesn’t really make it an extra service, does it?! I’m so disappointed because my first experience with them was great, but apparently that’s all that matters to them. They’re not looking for loyal, long term customers.
