Samuel from Orkin came out today to treat an ant issue we’ve been dealing with. He was professional, on time, and explained what he was doing and what to expect afterward. He also showed great concern for our pets, which was amazing. The treatment was thorough, and so far we’ve already seen a big improvement… the ants are gone! This company came very highly regarded so we were excited that they could make it out the very next day after calling. My fiancé explained on the phone we weren’t sure what our issue was but we felt like we were either dealing with bed bugs or fleas. The tech came in-already on a call-didn’t introduce himself by name-and asked if we paid our service fee. After about a minute he said something about bedbugs and again we reiterated we weren’t sure but the man on the phone explained they could look. Before even looking in the room he then says it’s going to be 3,000 for the treatment. Unprompted from us-we honestly didn’t care about the money. We just wanted to know what to do. He then tells us he can’t touch anything (how are you supposed to assess the problem if you can’t?) all he had was a flashlight. He looked for MAYBE 2 minutes before coming out and saying he didnt see any bugs. I then showed him pictures I had taken on my phone of what I thought was eggs? Fleas? And he just says “that’s not beg bugs”. I then said could it be fleas? He says “yeah that’s fleas”. I don’t even know what to believe. He didn’t sound very convincing. I then said okay-what do you do for those? He then says “we don’t do fleas”. I’ve seen many reviews for flea treatment. He said have a great day and that was done. He said something about if we continue to get bit/etc we could call again. Literally maybe an hour later I had more bites on me and then they started showing up on my fiancé. I’m am not a karen and hardly ever write reviews. But I felt like this was needed. I’m a mom of 2 littles who now has to become an exterminator. Off we go to Home Depot to hopefully remedy this ourselves.

The reason I am giving 3 stars is due to customer service. I got the flea and mite treatment. I received no instructions in how to prepare the house for the 1st application. When the Orkin pro arrived we were informed of the things we should have done. My husband and I were for hours vacuum and thinking we’re getting the house ready. They gave us 15 min and then the Pro knocked on the door saying the manager told that he couldn’t wait any longer and we would have to reschedule. But we were still within the 2 hour window they gave us for the pro to arrived. The first application requires to be 4 hours out the house with pets. So reschedule it is not easy. That was very upsetting causing unnecessary stress for humans and pets. If you are reading this, make sure you ask for what needs to be done in preparation. I cant attest for the work itself because we didn’t have an infestation but Orkin has a good reputation.
