We have used Orkin for years, including treating our house for termites, and had been pretty satisfied. However, recently, I had Orkin come out because I thought I heard scratching in the attic. We thought maybe we had a squirrel get in. Long story short, Orkin told us the dropping in our garage were from rats when they were actually from lizards. He told us we had double-digit rats in our attic. There were no droppings, no smell, and no disruption of the installation. He gave us an estimate of 11k to remove the installation and refill with special pest repellant installation. I told him we would get a second opinion. He then said he could ask his manager to give us a 10% discount since we had been good customers. I again said we would get a second opinion. We not only got a second opinion but a third opinion, and both said there was absolutely no indication of any rodent activity at all. NONE! After multiple attempts to contact the general manager at the Evansville, IN office about this issue and requesting our monthly pest service be canceled, we have not received a call. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ORKIN. THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM! Both companies told us Orkin is known for doing this scam. Our next step is the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General!

SALES SCAM I had the worst experience with ORKIN pest control. Initially, we hired them for spider treatments, but each service became worse. They kept sending different employees who seemed more interested in complaining about their job than actually doing it right. Then, after seeing a few mice in spider traps (which is common in homes near fields and we have bean fields across from us), ORKIN came in and tried to convince me my house was infested with RATS—even telling me the rats would crawl into my 2-month-old baby’s crib! They wanted to charge us $18,000 for “rat-proofing” and treatments. Yes, $18,000!!!!!! We switched to a local, trusted pest control company, and since then, we’ve seen zero rodents—not a single mouse. On top of that, ORKIN tried to force us to pay a $92 balance for subpar spider treatments, even after I disputed it, and they sent it straight to collections. The customer service is a joke, and their sales tactics are predatory. If you want reliable, honest service, stay far away from ORKIN. I wouldn’t trust them with a single penny. Total scam.I normally only do positive reviews, but sending me to collections for $92 after having zero remorse and using my baby as a sales tactic was the final straw.

I assumed the bait stations would be placed close to the house behind the shrubs. They are in the yard , very noticeable and I will have to be very careful not to hit them with the lawnmower. Wish we had discussed the placement before starting.
