I am deeply dissatisfied with the services I’ve received from Orkin. I initially had a Bed Bug treatment and when I arrived home after the treatment, my house was a shambles. Nothing was put back into place. I couldn’t even walk into my bathroom because drawers and things from my bedroom blocked the entire entry. They had left ab awful mess on the floor that required a steam cleaner to clean throughout my whole house. Cody was the rep who they sent to help clean and he did a fabulous job. I don’t believe he is with the company any longer. I was told with the initial treatment that I could sign up for a quarterly program and it would cover all pests including rodents and bedbugs. I jumped on it. The bedbug treatment was supposed to be good for a year then after that the quarterly would begin. They came back and checked up after bedbug treatment. I told them I knew our barn had rodents and I needed treatment. They didn’t have rodent control available. I then got a bill for the quarterly treatment. I called to check on it because I had not understood that would be charged for a year. I spoke to a gentleman who then explained that the quarterly would be charged and bed bugs are only covered in 2 rooms of my house if we would ever get them even on the quarterly. The professionalism and honoring the word of what they “sell” has not been at all to an acceptable standard. After that visit over the phone I explained that I had asked for rodent control and they were out. So he said he would send someone that day. J explained I work in the afternoon. He said she would be here by noon. I waited around until 1:30 pm and finally called the main office and told him I’d have to leave. No call. No show. Not professional. They returned the call and set up another appointment. That time they did come. An inspector was with the lady. I asked him about how the plan works with quarterly and bed bug prevention/control. He said my house would be covered. Not just 2 bedrooms. That’s how the plan works. What he described is what I was told on my initial sign up. He said he would get an email sent to me stating that so I would have it in writing. That’s been a week or two ago. Still no email. I’m very disappointed in the company. Nothing that’s been told to me has been anywhere near what’s happened and I will not recommend Orkin to anyone as a result. Im currently looking for a different pest control company.

I have to give Orkin 5 stars for two reasons. First, the ability to communicate directly with local representatives, not someone from a distant state that left issues a revolving door. Second, after purchasing a new home we found a nasty mouse infestation in our crawl space insulation that I tried to resolve for over a year with poor results. I was ready to give up on pest control companies when I tried Orkin. What a relief! Mike came out and after an inspection gave us a fair estimate on removing the attic and crawl space insulation, sealing access points, sanitizing, and replacing. No pressure sales. I had some initial concerns about the new crawl space insulation, and after contacting Mike, the installation manager quickly called me. John listened to me and that same morning made the 1 1/2 hour drive from Columbia to check it out. After inspecting, John visited us with a plan to address the issues. Over the next few days John continually checked in with us, and upon completion did a visual check to make sure all went as planned. We are very pleased with the finished project! I will definitely stay with Columbia MO Orkin for my pest control needs.

I rarely give 5 stars. When I do, it is for exceptional all around service. While the service was very good and the people were very polite, there were a few things that could use a bit of work. For example, when I called for service I was told it was going to need 2 applications 2 weeks apart due to the life cycle of the pests. Okay, no problem. I wasn't told when would be the best time to call to schedule the 2nd treatment. I should have known, since I live about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the office, that I should have called right away after the 1st treatment. When I called, the scheduling lady was unable to give me a date within the 2 week time frame. She said that she would have Roy, the Manager, call me back to schedule my appointment. Ok, no problem. Roy called and made the appointment for Wednesday at 3pm. Later that day, I received an automated reminder for Wednesday morning. Wait, what!! So I had to call them back to make sure the appointment was for Wednesday afternoon. They said there were no openings for Wednesday afternoon. The appointment was then made for Friday afternoon. Well, I am going to stop there. I think you get the idea. So much unnecessary confusion. My 2nd visit was yesterday. So, we shall see if the pests are actually gone or if Orkin will need to come back...

Dealing with pests can be a very anxiety-inducing situation, but Alex and Sam did an amazing job easing our minds. You can tell that they enjoy what they do.
