“I had issues with mice for a couple years after moving into my new house. We called Orkin to help and while they would visit periodically to set traps, they did not actually solve the problem, which is the fact that mice were getting in the house in the first place! Doug from Greathouse Pest Control at one point noticed that mice were getting into the attic and pointed it out during a visit to treat a spider problem. He was glad to put down some traps in addition to treating the spiders. We were very creeped out by the mice and their droppings and eventually asked him to come back to investigate. He found a drafty area in our basement crawl space and plugged it up, and we haven't had a mouse in four years! Earlier this year, we had problem with yellow jackets showing up on an upstairs bathroom window. Doug's schedule was jammed up with appointments but he spent 15 minutes on the phone with me talking through some temporary fixing measures I could take to keep the wasps out of our sight until he or another technician could come out and address the problem, and these measures worked very well. He didn't need to spend all that time with me, and it really made me feel that his top priority was that the problem would be fixed, regardless of whether that meant we would be paying him to come out to our house or not.”
