Our Experience
At first, when we were researching this trap, we were very skeptical based on the claims. We didn’t understand how you could plug in a trap and have it attract the fleas. The common misconception is that fleas are attracted to hair, and that’s why they go for our pets, but that is not entirely true.
Fleas are attracted to the warm blood, so they will bite any warm-blooded thing including humans. The only reason they stay with our pets is that they thrive. Because of the heavy hair they can bite and hang on for a while because they will stay warm.
When it comes to setting the Ultimate Trap up, it is very straightforward. You put the glue board into the chamber, plug it in, and remove the protective film from the board. Within a few minutes the trap will heat up to full temperature, and within a few hours, we had fleas. The company recommends running this overnight to ensure that no children or other pets get into it, but it’s not necessary. You can do whatever works best for your situation.
The only possible downside to this product is that it does not repel fleas it just captures them. If you do not catch every single flea, you’ll have no luck because they will reproduce in no time. In our opinion, this might work best in conjunction with an ultrasonic repeller.
All in all, this gets a solid four out of five stars because it is highly effective at capturing fleas and its very simple to use.
