Groundhogs don’t like vibrations and will move if their home is continuously shaking. Place lawn windmills, spinning pinwheels, or a vibrating sonic device near the entrance of their burrow or on top of their den to scare the groundhogs away. Windchimes are also a great disturbance. Placing different vibrating devices throughout your yard helps prevent groundhogs from calling it home.
Smoke kills the groundhog while it is inside the burrow. The easiest way is to buy gas bombs and fill the burrow up. They get sold at garden centers and online.
