To use Advantage, all you need to do is apply the full dose to your dog, usually on the back of their neck or on their back. The individually packaged doses come in 1 ml tubes, so ensure you use the full dose.
Each dose works to absorb into your dog’s skin, and the ingredients are active for a full month. It’s important when using Advantage that you’ll remember to give the monthly doses when it’s time. If you forget to give the next dose when it’s time, you’ll be leaving your dog unprotected.
After application, the medicine will activate in 12 hours. However, the medicine isn’t waterproof until 24 hours after application. Refrain from bathing your dog during this time. Also, if you have an outdoor dog, be sure it isn’t going to rain during the following 24-hours to make sure the medicine doesn’t wash off.
Once the medicine is activated, continue monitoring your dog for flea and lice activity within the first week. Your initial results may vary depending on if your dog is outdoor vs. indoor and if they are already dealing with a big infestation.
We recommend Advantage Flea Treatment for dog owners who are looking for easy preventative treatment or who may be dealing with a small to serious flea infestation. Since the medicine requires continual use, it’s also best for users who can commit the monthly application schedule.
