What Customers Are Saying

“Scam. 100% scam. We bought an older house and found rodent droppings in the attic and heating cabinet. Our real estate agent recommended this company and we were quoted $450 to take care of cleaning everything up and sealing any openings to prevent further infestation. Seemed high, but we trusted our agent’s recommendation. We had a hard time getting Tri County Pest Control to even schedule a time to come out, but eventually they came out. When the employee arrived (apparently the owner’s son), the first thing he did was ask for payment. My wife had to go to class so he had to be left unsupervised. Again, we trusted our agent’s recommendation and assumed he would do the work promised. When my wife got home about an hour later, she found the employee was gone, and nothing was cleaned up. Rodent droppings were left untouched, a dead mouse was still in the heating cabinet, yet an invoice left behind claimed everything was cleaned up. The next day, the check was cashed. We left a voicemail for the owner, Ruben Cortez, to tell him about the incomplete work and to try to schedule a follow up – we just wanted the work we paid for to be completed. He did not get back to us until we informed our real estate agent that this company did not perform services promised and was also not responding to our voicemail. Once my wife could get on the phone with him, the owner started yelling at my wife about how we were being difficult (we weren’t), how the heating cabinet was never discussed up front (it was), and how he doesn’t need our business, and he has plenty of happy customers. When it became clear the owner did not want to resolve this, my wife asked for a refund, and after the owner yelled some more, he hung up on my wife. He followed up by sending a letter that literally made up stuff to make us look unreasonable, (as if putting his alternate reality in writing somehow made it true), and provided a $100 refund with no information as to how or why he calculated that amount. We’re still pursuing a full refund. We’re sad this became so complicated – we’ve had no issues with any other contractors we’ve worked with because unlike Ruben and his son, they have all been honest people. This could have been simply prevented by the company doing the work promised instead of covering up the situation with excuses and lies.”

“This is the worst pest company ever. They continuously told me the wrong date and would tell me the correct one during the time of appointment. The manager is the one who told me the wrong date 3 times. I also told them Wednesdays did not work for me and they scheduled me for Wednesday every time and when I rescheduled they did not answer their phone or emails, and when they finally did they told me the wrong date every time. During the visit they did not spray anything. There was no smell or sign of their being spray. Cannot express enough to not use this business.”
