“They came by our house offering pest control. I explained I generally think pest services are a waste of money as I can spray bug spray. He asked if we have rodent problems to which I answered yes, but I just lay poison to kill them in the winter. He explained they have a system that actually keeps rodents out of the house all-together. I said if they can keep them out of the house, I'll get the service. He confirmed they would do that. Winter me came...as you would guess, our house was full of mice...we had mice poo in our kitchen drawers, my little girl screaming and running into our room after they were running across the floor...my dog even killed one in our tub! So, I laid the poison, and eventually they disappeared. The next time they wanted to come "spray" in Feb, I mentioned we were no longer interested in the service since they did not do what I hired them to do which was keep mice out. Some guy came out anyway and laid a bunch of the old spring traps...I dont know why. I called again and cancelled. I explained that once the mice were in the house, game over. I can kill them (and did) the whole point of the service for us (which was directly discussed with their sales guy as the only reason I was trying the service) was to keep them out! They then said I would have to pay for the trap laying and an additional $75 for canceling the service. (so much for their "service guarantee") I have asked them for a refund since I did not get what we thought we were buying from them. The response has been calls and letters demanding we pay them more money. One of the owners called my wife on her cell (we dont know how they got her number) demanding payment for the trap laying and claiming they were justified because when the guy came, my wife was distracted with children and rude to the technician because she talked on her phone while he was there. There's more great service from them! Guardian should have responded by simply saying "We are sorry our service was not to your expectation. How can we make that up to you since you have paid us to do one thing?" That is a guarantee that most folks appreciate. Simple, direct and honest. These guys claimed they never promised anything and are still trying to squeeze us for more money. Maybe I'll send them an invoice for what I paid and see how they like it.”
