“My family owns a home in New Orleans which is being rented by family members. We needed to hire someone to address pest issues. We hired Bug Smashers and they came for a council. They noticed our bigger issue was termites instead. We knew we needed to address both issues so instead of paying for the pest control we were told we should do the bigger package for the termites which would include the pest control as well... ($700+ dollars) Angela who works at the main office initially ensured us that both services are included in the $700 package and to notify them if we saw any activity after their "complimentary spray" (which never happened) Fast forward a week and a half later Angela claims claims pest control was not included in the package once requested. Instead of going back and forth I pulled up our recorded conversation from when we previously made our credit card payments over the phone; which confirmed I was correct and she was lying but I digress. Moving on to the most annoying part.. When Alfred and his Assistant came to spray and treat the damaged termite areas something happened which caused all of our outside electricity to go out. I didn't initially notify them since my parents were coming into town to investigate the issue. Once they realized it had to be from the termite work outside the house they reached out to Alfred and Angela. When we notified the company of our issues they agreed to come investigate but failed to take responsibility for the issue. Frustrated my dad asked him to return the following day to walk through exactly what they did behind and under our home to see if it caused the electrical issue. Agreeing to return at 9AM the following day he never did nor did he or Angela return any of our calls. We ended up having to call an electrician to address the damages which cost an additional $250 we were not prepared for. The electrician confirmed the area that Bug Smashers worked worked on or getting to it is what caused the electrical short We should have investigated this company further prior to signing a contract with them and we suggest you do the same. I'll be sure to write the BBB of our issues along with google, Facebook and angles list.”
