“I became a first-time homeowner almost 2 years ago exactly. It was a process in which I had much help from friends and family to physically oversee the inspections, evaluations and such due to a hectic work schedule. I recently noticed what appears to be some termite damage at my back door and immediately called a prominent company for an inspection and estimate. The cost was more than I could immediately afford. To my surprise and relief, I received a mailing from Boro a short time later reminding me that my Termite infestation warranty/retreatment plan was about to expire. I had completely forgotten about the coverage that was offered and paid for by way of my home inspection company. I called Boro and spoke with Barbara who was quite pleasant and promptly offered to assist in my renewal. After requesting Barbara to confirm exactly what was covered under my current contract (inspection and retreatment to be exact) I inquired if they could come out for an inspection and possible retreatment. Barbara stated she had to check their schedule and give me a call right back. Upon returning my call, coincidently Barbara regretfully reported that there was nothing available until right after my current contract expires. Also of note, Barbara informed me that I would need to pay before she would even offer an appointment. This is so disappointing. I was looking forward to having my issue addressed at a fraction of the cost but the unwillingness to honor my current contract has left me a bit sour. Spending more money to go with a larger more reputable company may be worth the price in the guarantee alone that the contract will be honored.”
